Remixing Rudra ~!

Remixing Rudra
----------------------

I sat in the theater enjoing the song in which salman as usual bares to show his mucsles.'Jaaye jaaye ..jawani phir na aaya'. I dont remember the name of the movie though. The heroine was fish mouth shaped priyanka chopra who is bagging lots of roles mostly because of her lineant prices.Sometime late in the movie, the herione displays her dress collection and the whole fashion show is set in Goa i guess. The stage was well decorated and the models sashayed in and out of the ramp. What caught me was not the models or the clothes that they were wearing ( meagerly !) , but the back ground music which was being played when the whole scene is being shown.

I was dumb struck !. The music director has remixed one of the most sacred hymns of the Hindu religion. The Rudra Parayana. In the age where remixing is in full swing , he chose to do something different i guess.

The very chanting which demands exact pronounciation and rendition was thoroughly mutiliated with distorted jargon sound supported by aimless beats.

Isnt there a better way to show ones creativity ? Not that I am religion specific or something, but every religion has something which cannot be changed.Who actually cares ? The visual treat that the models generated made the ears of the so called religious groups and outfits deaf to this act. Or was it that the people who did this movie are too powerful to subdue the whole protests which could have occured. But nothing was in store. The reason might also be that there was no political element to it . But what is done is done and one cannot change that.

After knowing people who literally spend their entire lives just chanting the sacred hymns and texts , which they do it with utmost sincerity, I only prayed that this remixed version should never be heard by their ears because they just cant bear it.

The most sensitive part of the human body will in no time break in to pieces.
