Happy New Year 2011

Dear Friends,
Wishing you all a very happy new year 2011.
Its been a long time since i had blogged.
2010 passed awaay so quickly , bringing an end to the decade.

Some of the notable things that i have done in the year 2010 was :
1. Purchasing a South Indian Temple Percussion instrument - Chenda (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chenda) - I like its sound , especially when the beat is fast. you have to enjoy the resonance. It was custom made for me from my village in Kerala, Gods Own Country.
I am yet to start full time drumming Chenda.

By this my collection adds to 5
1. Mridangam - From Tanjavoor.
2. Congo Drums - From Germany
3. Darbuka - From Syria . Thanks to DTM
4. Damru - From Nepal
5. Chenda - From Kerala

God Bless !

2. Register my domain name - I finally registered my domain name on 12th December 2010 with hosting.rediff.com . I did not get a .com domain , as it was taken one day back! It was frustrating that i missed out on my pet name by a day's delay. Procrastination is crime - is indeed true.

3. Travel to North Kerala - This was the first time i got a chance to travel to North Kerala. The first thing that strikes to your mind is the pathetic roads full of potholes. We visited Kozhikode,Kannur and a place called Thaliparamba. There is a temple for RajaRajeshwara where in we had offered our prayers. Devotees come to this temple to offer prayers , by which the sins in your past birth are washed away. This temple was in news recently , as Yeddyurappa , the current CM of Karnataka offered prayers here to save his Government.

It was very pleasing and intriguing for me that The temple has retained its ancient look. The entrance structure is built with bricks, and can easily transport you to the olden days. The temple does not allow women inside the sanctum in the regular timings. Its open from 8.00 pm - 9.00 pm, where in the deity will be decorated as the Godess.

Near to the entrance on the left side was a massive tree which caught my eye. It was indeed a very old tree with lot of branches.

Well i will update this section incrementally, until then -

No resolutions, no specific agenda in mind
Its a day to retrospect, a day to rewind !
