Paris Drum
This was my second visit to Paris. The first was with friends, this time it was with my family.
The city is multi cultured and open to all communities and races. After reaching the Gallieni station, where the Eurolines office is situated, we took the efficient metro rail to our destination .. La Chateau. We were greeted with a group of yelling people , may be from afrikas. The scene was shocking Then we figured out that the area is famous for wigs and it is their daily business.
After a quick break at our hotel, we headed to the Eifel Tower.
"Huge", will be the word to describe the structure.
The thing I liked about paris is that i found a lot of Street musicians in every nook and corner. And Eifel tower premises was no exception. The last time I had tried a Conga drum and this time too, I was hoping to find somebody there. After the aerial view of the paris city, we headed back to the gardens to have a better view of the tower , waiting for the light show after sunset. The sun was slowly going down and walking back ,I heared what I was longing for this evening.
It was a "Djembe" i guess . I was automatically drawn to it, and started playing it to the fullest dexterity with my friend. The dusk, environment, Fully lit Eifel tower, the spectators… and most important… my family watching me perform…. It was thrilling.
After the first session , I got back to my seat and was enjoing the Colorful lights on tower. Then I got a second invite from my friend to try out his "Cymbals".. What followed was sort of a jugalbandi. The pace with which we were playing increased steadily .All of a sudden the lights on the tower started glowing. It was great !!! The whole tower was shining with lights... It was a true marvel spectacle.
Though I had seen the sparkling of this tower earlier, this time it was special , coz I could even see the sparkles in the eyes of my family !
